Cavaliers Reportedly Have Pursued Koufos

ESPN's Marc Stein reported on Cleveland's interest in the 26-year-old big man. Koufos played college basketball at Ohio State and was born in Canton, so a return to his home state would likely be a welcome change of scenery.
Koufos is also represented by Rich Paul (h/t RealGM.com), the agent for Cavs superstar LeBron James. The Sacramento standout is a solid defender in the post who has a bit more nuance and finesse to his offensive game than Cleveland's Tristan Thompson—another Paul client.
Apparently Cavs veteran Anderson Varejao doesn't have enough left in the tank to justify a spot in the rotation in light of Cleveland's reported efforts to land Koufos.
