Kobe Bryant Conducts Haters in Farewell Song in Nike Retirement Ad

April 13th, 2016 by Kyle Newport Leave a reply »

All throughout his farewell tour this season, Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant has heard from both players and fans what they think of him.

And unless you're wearing purple and gold, Bryant has caused you pain at some point over the last 20 years. Having to deal with a headache year after year can lead to hate—something the Black Mamba revels in.

Nike came up with the perfect way to capture Bryant embracing the hate for his retirement spot. Rather than just have an emotional farewell commercial, the company created a cool bit that gave fans and opposing players a chance to send the 37-year-old Laker out in a rather unusual way.

Wait until you see the cameos.

Just on a fun note, Nike tweeted out the video at exactly 8:24 a.m. PT, undoubtedly a tribute to the Lakers star's two uniform numbers.
