Dahntay Jones to Cavaliers: Latest Contract Details, Comments, Reaction

The Cleveland Cavaliers bolstered their backcourt depth on the final day of the regular season Wednesday by signing veteran guard Dahntay Jones. 

The Cavs confirmed the addition on their official website. Although terms of the agreement were not immediately released, the team noted he'll be eligible for postseason play.

Jones appeared in 33 games for the Los Angeles Clippers last season. He averaged less than a point per game while shooting 28.6 percent from the field in extremely limited playing time.

The 35-year-old Duke product signed with the Brooklyn Nets in September, but he didn't make the team's final roster for the regular season. He ended up joining the NBA Development League's Grand Rapids Drive in December.



Jones put together a solid campaign in the D-League. He averaged 15.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists across 43 games, including 39 starts. Most notably, he shot 41.2 percent from beyond the arc, which could give him niche value to Cleveland.
