Kirk Hinrich Injury: Updates on Bulls Guard’s Knee and Return

Kirk Hinrich is a bit of a polarizing figure among Chicago Bulls fans over the past few years, but there's no question the team needs every healthy body it can get as it prepares for the playoffs.

Unfortunately for the Bulls, Hinrich left Saturday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers with an injury.

Hinrich Suffers Hyperextended Knee Saturday, April 11 ESPNChicago.com's Nick Friedell reported Hinrich hyperextended his left knee and would be unable to return Saturday night. K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reported that Hinrich plans to travel with the team to Brooklyn.

Entering the game, the 34-year-old was averaging 5.8 points and 2.3 assists, both of which are career-lows. According to Basketball-Reference.com, Hinrich is also posting the lowest true shooting percentage (.468) and player efficiency rating (6.8).

Injuries have plagued the Bulls all season, particularly with Jimmy Butler and Derrick Rose. Although the impact of Hinrich's injury pales in comparison to missing either Butler or Rose, the timing couldn't be much worse.
