Kevin Durant Gives Thanks in Emotional NBA MVP Acceptance Speech

Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant was officially named the 2013-14 NBA Most Valuable Player on Tuesday. Judging by his acceptance speech, the award really means a lot to him.

Although this season marked the fourth time in his career that he led the league in scoring, it was the first time in his career that he won the MVP award. 



Like most winners of the award, Durant thanked everyone who helped him reach this point. From his teammates to his coach to his mom, the 25-year-old was very emotional during his speech:

It wasn't all tears and thanks. On the final question of the press conference, Durant did have some fun with a reporter after The Oklahoman dubbed him "Mr. Unreliable" last week.

Durant received 119 of the 125 first-place votes, via NBA.com, and his 1,232 points put him more than 300 points ahead of the Miami Heat's LeBron James, who was a distant second.
