Justise Winslow Injury: Updates on Heat Forward’s Ankle and Return

Miami Heat forward Justise Winslow will miss Tuesday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies with an ankle injury, according to the team's official Twitter account.

Winslow Down with Sprained Ankle Tuesday, Dec. 29 According to the Miami Herald's Ethan J. Skolnick, Winslow previously called himself "day-to-day" and believed he would be able to suit up.     

Miami will continue to rely on Luol Deng at the small forward spot with Winslow out, and Gerald Green will likely see more time at the 3 if the 19-year-old misses extended time. 

The No. 10 overall pick in June, Winslow's rookie year is off to a strong start. He came into Tuesday averaging 5.9 points and 4.7 rebounds per game on 41.7 percent shooting, finding a role as a solid on-ball defender on the wing.

"I mean it's definitely an adjustment, especially coming off the bench, that's something that's new," Winslow said during the preseason, per Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel. "But it's a lot of adjustment. So that's something I just got to get used to."
