Jerryd Bayless Injury: Updates on Bucks Guard’s Ankle and Return

The Milwaukee Bucks were forced to play the majority of Monday’s contest against the San Antonio Spurs short-handed after Jerryd Bayless suffered an ankle injury.

Bayless Ruled Out for Remainder of Game Monday, Jan. 4 Bayless scored only three points and grabbed one rebound in seven minutes of action before exiting. The team said it was an ankle sprain and confirmed the guard would not return to the game.

Bayless was averaging a career-best 12.0 points per night this season heading into Monday’s contest and was shooting an impressive 43.6 percent from three-point range.

The Bucks have been one of the biggest disappointments in the league this year (14-21 before Monday) after they battled the Chicago Bulls in last season’s playoffs and appeared to be primed for a jump in the standings, but the eight-year veteran has been one of the bright spots.
