Indiana Pacers small forward C.J. Miles suffered a shoulder injury during Monday's contest against the Miami Heat.

Miles Ruled Out for Remainder of Game Monday, Jan. 4 Miles played a mere seven minutes and scored seven points before suffering the injury. Pacers radio host and sideline reporter Pat Boylan confirmed that the forward would not return because of a sore right shoulder.

The Pacers' sharpshooter is having a career season so far, averaging a career-high 14.5 points per game behind 39.5 percent shooting from three-point range coming into Monday's game.

Miles has been a pleasant surprise for the Pacers, who have needed backcourt help drastically because of Monta Ellis' struggles so far. The prized free-agent acquisition was averaging a shade over 13 points per game on only 42 percent shooting in his first season in Indiana coming into Monday's contest.

Should Miles' injury prove to be more significant than originally feared, the Pacers may need to look for help in the backcourt in free agency or via trade.
