Jason Terry: Predicting the Role and Impact He’ll Have with the Boston Celtics

The loss of Ray Allen still hurts, not necessarily from a talent standpoint, though, more so because he went to the rival Miami Heat. 

Talent-wise, the Celtics are really better off with Ray gone. The fear of him leaving forced the Celtics' hand in signing Jason Terry, while his actual departure motivated them to acquire the younger Courtney Lee.

Both acquisitions will no doubt reap major benefits for the Celtics, particularly the signing of Jason Terry. Terry is a proven competitor and winner at the highest level.

People talk a lot about players who "aren't afraid of the big moment or shot." Oftentimes, this phrase is overused or bestowed upon unworthy players. In Jason Terry's case, though, the statement is 100 percent accurate. 

Take his famous shot over LeBron James in the NBA Finals for example. Really, that wasn't a great shot. I'm sure it's not what Rick Carlisle drew up, but sometimes, the best play can be to put the ball into your most fearless player's hands and let them do what they do best.
