Jameer Nelson Injury: Updates on Mavericks Guard’s Back and Return

November 29th, 2014 by Adam Wells Leave a reply »

The Dallas Mavericks will be without starting point guard Jameer Nelson on Saturday night against the Philadelphia 76ers as he deals with a back issue that has prevented him from playing the last three games.

According to Mark Followill of Fox Sports Southwest, Nelson is having back spasms that are keeping him from suiting up:

Nelson has started 15 games for the Mavericks this season, averaging 7.6 points, 4.6 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game. He's had a history of injuries, playing less than 70 games in each of the last three seasons. Dallas will likely want to exercise caution with the 32-year-old as a result.
