J.R. Smith Gets Emotional Discussing Family After Cavaliers Win 2016 NBA Finals

Outside of LeBron James, perhaps no Cleveland Cavaliers player showed as much emotion as J.R. Smith did after the franchise won its first NBA title Sunday.

Smith broke down into tears at the podium after Cleveland's 93-89 Game 7 win over the Golden State Warriors.

He discussed the impact his family has had on him after plenty of rough moments throughout his career.

Fox Sports Ohio provided a clip of the former Sixth Man of the Year at the podium:



Afterward, the press applauded Smith, which Zach Harper of CBS Sports said was unprecedented:



SLAM Magazine captured an image of Smith sharing the moment with his father on Father's Day:



"Everything I do is for my parents and for my family," Smith said, per SportsCenter.

He has had many off-court issues throughout his 12-year career, but Smith showed fans a different side of himself Sunday.

He admitted he's messed up but has been fortunate to have the support of his family.
