Cavaliers Parade 2016: Date, Location and More

The Cleveland Cavaliers clinched the 2015-16 NBA title with a Game 7 victory over the Golden State Warriors at Oracle Arena on Sunday, and now they get to party with a city that just watched its first big league sports championship since 1964.

Marc J. Spears of ESPN’s The Undefeated shared some of the details for the Cavaliers’ upcoming arrival and parade:



The celebration will kick off Monday, when the Cavaliers return to the city in triumphant fashion.

While Spears noted the parade and rally will take place Wednesday in downtown Cleveland, the exact route, television information and schedule have not been announced. NBA TV broadcast the Warriors' championship parade last year and will likely do so for the Cavaliers on Wednesday.

As if there were any doubt Cleveland was ready to enjoy the win, Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press pointed out it didn’t even have a parade for the 1964 Browns that won the city's last major championship.

LeBron James sounded ready for the long-awaited festivities after the victory Sunday, per Marla Ridenour of the Akron Beacon Journal:
