If the Celtics Have to Depend on Rondo to Win Game 7, They’re in Trouble

According to the announcers during the trouncing of the Boston Celtics in Game Six of the NBA Finals, the team's going to need Rajon Rondo to come up with a big scoring game in the finale for the Celts to have a chance.

If they're right, the Celtics are in big trouble.

Rondo's scoring and shooting stats have gone down in the last two series, when playing teams that are better defensively.

Going through trees like Gasol, Bynum, and Odom doesn't make it any easier on Rondo's patented drives to the hoop.

But that's a far simpler chore for a guy who looked like he couldn't hit the side of a barn on his outside shots in Tuesday's game.

One three-point shot missed the rim badly and caromed off the backboard, while an unguarded 12-footer touched nothing but air.

For the second time in the last three games, he went 5-15 from the field, finishing both games with just ten points.

Not only that, but he's just 4-17 from the charity stripe in the series after shooting only 57 percent against Orlando from the line.

If he does that tomorrow night, Celtics fans will be cryi ...
