Hawks’ Kent Bazemore Throws Down Alley-Oop vs. Nets

Late in the third quarter of Game 3 in their opening-round NBA playoff series against the Brooklyn Nets, the Atlanta Hawks decided it was time to wake up.

The pride of the Eastern Conference had been getting outplayed by the No. 8 seed all day, but that changed as the final period approached. It’s clear that the Hawks, already up 2-0, are looking for a sweep.

Atlanta ripped off a 9-0 run to take the lead, and the most spectacular aspect of this burst came on an alley-oop jam from Kent Bazemore, which tied the game at 58 late in the third quarter.

As the spring-loaded shooting guard swung on the iron, there was a collective groan from the few Nets supporters in attendance.

Up to that point, it was as loud as the fans—all five of them—had been all game.
