Spurs 87, Warriors 79—Final

The San Antonio Spurs edged the Golden State Warriors 87-79 on Saturday at the AT&T Center.

LaMarcus Aldridge tallied 26 points and 13 rebounds, while Kawhi Leonard added 18 points, 14 boards and four assists. San Antonio improved to 59-10 on the season, which includes a 35-0 mark at home.

Both teams played stellar defense, but the Spurs earned a critical advantage by holding Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson to a combined 2-of-19 clip from three-point range. Curry was a season-worst 1-of-12, mustering just 14 points on the night.

Thompson's 15 points led the Warriors (62-7), who were without Andrew Bogut, Andre Iguodala and Festus Ezeli. Draymond Green notched 11 points, nine rebounds and eight assists in the loss.

Tim Duncan came off the bench for only the third time in his career and logged only eight minutes for San Antonio. Boris Diaw was clearly a better matchup for the ultra-athletic Warriors, taking advantage of a mismatch with Harrison Barnes and netting 14 points.
