George Karl Ties Phil Jackson for 5th on NBA’s All-Time Wins List

With a 142-119 victory over the Phoenix Suns, Sacramento Kings head coach George Karl tied Phil Jackson for fifth on the NBA's all-time coaching wins list Saturday, per the Associated Press (via ESPN.com).

Karl's 1,155th win came in his 27th season as a head coach with his sixth team. He is 24-39 overall with the Kings since taking over last year.

NBA TV congratulated Karl after his latest victory:



The 63-year-old coach downplayed the milestone and focused on his team's play coming off an embarrassing loss to the 3-32 Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday, per the Associated Press.

"Our record brings a lot of energizing drama to our team, and in today's world, it gets magnified in a crazy way," Karl said. "Our team has done a better job with what they have been dealt than people give them credit for most of the time."
