Festus Ezeli Injury: Updates on Warriors Center’s Knee and Return

The Golden State Warriors' depth is a big reason why they have enjoyed so much success over the past couple of seasons, but that will be tested, as center Festus Ezeli is dealing with a knee injury suffered Monday against the San Antonio Spurs.

Ezeli Out vs. 76ers Saturday, Jan. 30 According to Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle, an MRI on the third-year player's left knee was inconclusive. He was ruled out for Saturday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers and will be considered day-to-day thereafter.

Ezeli spent his first two NBA seasons as a spare big off the bench, used primarily for rebounding and shot-blocking. While those continue to be his biggest strengths, his role has certainly been expanded in 2015-16.

The former Vanderbilt standout is averaging career highs in multiple categories, with 7.5 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game, and he has especially progressed as an offensive threat.
