Evan Fournier Injury: Updates on Magic Guard’s Wrist and Return

Orlando Magic swingman Evan Fournier is dealing with a sore right wrist and will not play Sunday against the Philadelphia 76ers. It's unclear when he will be ready to return.

Magic Activate Napier Sunday, Feb. 28 The Magic's PR team announced Shabazz Napier has been activated to replace Fournier. 

Napier is averaging four points per game in 44 games this year.

Fournier battled a hip injury that sidelined him for five weeks during the 2014-15 regular season. As a result, the French swingman was limited to 58 appearances. However, Fournier watched his role grow in Orlando despite encountering injury troubles.

When he was healthy, Fournier gave the Magic some punch from beyond the arc. He drilled 37.8 percent of his threes a season ago, and that mark has climbed to 40.4 percent this season. 

Fournier's spot-up shooting has made him a key piece of Orlando's perimeter rotation—which is largely devoid of knock-down shooters. The Magic have generally had trouble spacing the floor while embarking upon a long rebuild, and his three-point prowess has been invaluable at shoo ...
