Enes Kanter: Latest Contract News, Rumors, Speculation on Thunder C’s Future

With free agency looming, the Oklahoma City Thunder are looking to sort things out with center Enes Kanter. 

According to Shams Charania of RealGM.com, the Thunder will meet with their restricted free agent July 1, when free agency begins, in Chicago, Illinois. Sources told Real GM that the two sides will be discussing "three- and four-year contract sheets that could reach maximum-level money with incentives."  

The Thunder already sent Kanter a qualifying offer on June 29 of $7.47 million for next season, according to Basketball Insiders' Eric Pincus (via Rotoworld.com).

Kanter played 26 games for the Thunder last season after being traded from the Utah Jazz in a three-team deal back in February. After averaging 13.3 points per game and 7.8 rebounds with Utah, Kanter recorded 18.7 points and 11.0 rebounds in Oklahoma City. 

The 6'11" center will be entering his fifth season in the NBA and will be receiving plenty of attention from other teams who are looking for a center that has shown the ability to score, according to BasketballInsiders.com's Alex Kennedy.
