Cleveland Cavaliers center Brendan Haywood is reportedly on the trade block with his contract potentially being the most valuable piece of any prospective deal.

Spurs Showing Interest Tuesday, June 30 Mike Monroe of the San Antonio Express-News reported the San Antonio Spurs are talking with the Cavs about a potential trade for Haywood. He also noted the $10.5 million contract is the key facet here because it's not guaranteed for next season.

If the Spurs acquired the 35-year-old center, they could waive him when the new league year begins on July 1 to give themselves more flexibility for free agency. What Cleveland is looking for in return is unclear at this point.

Haywood was an extremely limited contributor for the Cavaliers last season. He averaged just 1.6 points and 1.3 rebounds in 22 appearances. He hasn't played extended minutes since his time with the Washington Wizards during the 2009-10 campaign.
