Dwyane Wade Injury: Updates on Heat Star’s Status and Return

Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade will not be on the floor during the team's game against Denver on Friday due to problems with his shoulders.

Latest on Wade's Playing Status Friday, Jan. 15 According to ESPN's Michael Wallace, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said Wade "needed to take a step back" and get some rest while getting treatment on his sore shoulders. 

Jason Lieser of the Palm Beach Post reported Wade has a strain in his left shoulder and an impingement in his right shoulder.

Remaining healthy has been an issue for D-Wade over the past several years and over the course of his career as a whole. He has never played in more than 79 games in a single season, and he hasn't played in at least 70 since 2010-11.

He largely avoided injuries so far this season, appearing in 38 of the Heat's 39 games coming into Friday, and he has produced to the tune of 18.4 points, 4.6 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game.
