Derrick Rose Injury: Updates on Bulls Star’s Back, Hamstring and Return

Chicago Bulls star point guard Derrick Rose left the court during Monday's game against the Miami Heat with a lower back and right hamstring injury.

Rose Won't Return vs. Heat Monday, Jan. 25 At what point Rose suffered the injury remains unclear, though he did show pain midway through the second quarter. He left with the team at halftime but did not return coming out of the break, and the Bulls announced he'd be out the remainder of the contest. 

Rose's hiatus comes at quite an untimely juncture, as Kirk Hinrich (left quad) and E’Twaun Moore (right hamstring) were already sidelined Monday with injuries, per Cody Westerlund of CBS Chicago.

Rose has an alarming injury history, so fans in the Windy City are always holding their breath when he leaves the hardwood.

The former NBA MVP has never been quite the same following multiple knee injuries and is no longer the best young player on the team. That distinction belongs to Jimmy Butler, who is a superior defender and a more proficient scorer.
