Derrick Favors Injury: Updates on Jazz Forward’s Knee and Return

The Utah Jazz are off to a solid 7-5 start, but the team announced it will be without big man Derrick Favors for at least Thursday's game against the Chicago Bulls because of a bone contusion in his left knee.

Favors to Be Re-Evaluated in Future Wednesday, Nov. 16 The Jazz announced Favors underwent an MRI Wednesday and said "his status will continue to be re-evaluated moving forward."

Favors has appeared in 11 games this season and is averaging 10.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and one block per game behind 46.9 percent shooting from the field. While the sample size is small, Favors' numbers are not up to his normal standards. His points-per-game mark would be his lowest in four seasons if it held up, and his rebounds and blocks would be his lowest since the 2011-12 campaign.

What's more, his field-goal percentage would be the lowest of his career.

Fortunately for the Jazz, they have a few pieces to shoulder more of the load in the frontcourt while Favors is out with his injury.
