Logan Shaw to Ducks for Michael Sgarbossa: Latest Trade Details and Reaction

The Anaheim Ducks have acquired right wing Logan Shaw from the Florida Panthers in exchange for center Michael Sgarbossa, the team announced Wednesday. 

Shaw, 25, played 53 games for the Panthers last season while totaling five goals and two assists, but he was sent down to the American Hockey League after clearing waivers in October.

In 13 games with the Springfield Thunderbirds, Shaw had four goals and two assists.

"I know I can play away from the puck," the 2011 third-round pick said in October, per Harvey Fialkov of the Sun-Sentinel. "I need to bring more offense when I can. ... I know I'm competing with eight or nine guys, but it's a healthy competition and a way to make me better."

He had a chance to make the Panthers roster out of the preseason but lost the competition and eventually became expendable.

Sgarbossa, 24, has played in nine games this season and 19 overall in his career, totaling zero goals and three assists across four seasons.
