Derrick Favors Injury: Updates on Jazz Forward’s Back and Return

The Utah Jazz will be without Derrick Favors as the star power forward deals with a back injury.

Favors Joins Growing List of Injured Jazz Players Monday, Dec. 28 According to Tony Jones of the Salt Lake Tribune, Favors will miss at least Utah's game Monday night against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Jazz were already without Rudy Gobert inside, and a broken fibula will keep Alec Burks out of action for the foreseeable future.

Favors was overshadowed by the emergence of Gobert throughout the 2014-15 season, but his numbers were rather impressive.

While playing a career-high 30.8 minutes, Favors averaged 16 points, eight rebounds and 1.7 blocks. He also shot 52.5 percent from the field during that span. According to Basketball-Reference.com, Favors joined Pau Gasol, DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis as the only players to average at least 16 points, eight boards and 1.5 blocks a year ago.
