Cleveland Cavaliers Trade Delonte West, Acquire Ramon Sessions

The Cleveland Cavaliers have made the first of what could be many moves this off-season.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Brian Windhorst is reporting that the Cavaliers and Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed on a deal that will send Delonte West and Sebastian Telfair to Minnesota for Ramon Sessions, Ryan Hollins, and a 2013 second round draft pick.

The writing has been on the wall for Delonte West since the end of the season, and it was only a matter of time before a team traded West to gain some salary cap flexibility for this season by waiving him.

West's contract is $4.6 million this season, but if the team acquiring him waives him before August 5th, they only have to pay 500 thousand dollars to the shooting guard who has legal problems.

NBA officials with knowledge of his legal situation stemming from carrying loaded guns in the state of Maryland feel that West could end up suspended for a good amount of time in the 2010-2011 season.
