Behind a monster second half from Isaiah Thomas, the Boston Celtics (13-9) defeated the Chicago Bulls (11-8), 105-100 on Wednesday.
Thomas scored all 20 of his points after the halftime break, adding five rebounds and five assists, as he thoroughly outplayed Chicago's Derrick Rose down the stretch.
A whopping seven other Celtics joined Thomas in double-figures. Jared Sullinger was among that group. He also had a game-high 16 rebounds.
Chicago was led by Jimmy Butler, who scored a career-high 36 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Pau Gasol had a double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds. Rose added 12 points on 11 shots.
These teams will meet again on January 7 in Chicago.
