Celtics 107, Bulls 100—Final

The Boston Celtics closed the game on a 7-0 run to hand the Chicago Bulls their first loss of the season Wednesday night.

Despite Al Horford (concussion) sitting out and Jae Crowder (ankle) leaving the game early, Boston (3-1) earned the 107-100 behind a 23-point explosion from Amir Johnson. The power forward buried a career-high four three-pointers—all in the third quarter.

Chicago (3-1) battled back from a 16-point deficit it faced during the final frame, tying the game at 100 with less than two minutes remaining. However, two missed free throws from Nikola Mirotic allowed the Celtics to seal the conference win.

Isaiah Thomas also netted 23 for Boston, including a clutch layup in the final minute. Marcus Smart tallied seven points, five rebounds and five assists in his season debut.

Jimmy Butler led the Bulls with 23 points.
