Carmelo Anthony Injury: Updates on Knicks Star’s Knee and Return

New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony is dealing with a sore left knee that has kept him out of the lineup, and it is uncertain when he will return to action.

Latest on Anthony's Playing Status Wednesday, Jan. 27 Barbara Barker of Newsday reported Anthony is "expected" to travel with the team to Toronto, but she added that the Knicks' won't have any updates on his status until Thursday.

Anthony's Soreness in Surgically Repaired Knee Anthony suffered a sprained right ankle in the team's win over the Boston Celtics on Jan. 12. Otherwise, he's avoided serious injury issues since sitting out for the second half of the 2014-15 season following knee surgery.

Unfortunately, the soreness Anthony is dealing with is affecting the same knee that was operated on. The hope is it won't become a lingering issue and that his absence from Tuesday's contest was simply precautionary.
