According to the Chicago Tribune, the Chicago Bulls' prized offseason acquisition Carlos Boozer will miss eight weeks with a fractured hand.

Boozer, who has always been injury prone throughout his career, reportedly suffered the injury on Saturday, which was an off-day for the Bulls. The fracture of the fifth metacarpal will require surgery.

Boozer, who was signed to a five-year, $80 million deal this offseason, missed just four games for the Jazz last season. Boozer's monster performance in the playoffs (19.7 PPG, 13.2 RPG, 3.0 APG) made him a guy the Bulls coveted this offseason.

Boozer, however, missed a combined 80 games during the 04-05, and 05-06 seasons.

After the upper-tier players this offseason were gone, the Bulls settled on Carlos Boozer, who was seen as a great consolation prize.

The injury will prevent Boozer from making his Bulls debut until mid-to-late November, in the best case scenario.

More to come once the Bulls release more information on the injury.
