After getting bounced from the postseason by the Atlanta Hawks Friday night, the Brooklyn Nets' attention must quickly turn to the offseason and whether or not center Brook Lopez is part of the team's long-term plans.

Nets Reportedly Want to Re-Sign Lopez Saturday, May 2 "The expectation is that the Nets want to re-sign both Lopez and Thaddeus Young, according to sources, and that could happen after both opt out of the final year of their contracts and agree to multi-year deals to stay in Brooklyn," reported ESPN.com's Mike Mazzeo.

Lopez, 27, currently has the ability to opt in at a $16.7 million price tag for the 2015-16 season or opt out of the final year of the four-year, $60.83 million contract he signed with Brooklyn prior to the 2012-13 season.

Given his offensive skill level, there are few who doubt Lopez is worth the cost whenever he's healthy. He is averaging 17.2 points and 7.4 rebounds this season on 51.3 percent shooting, spreading the floor with an above-average mid-range game and a polished post game.
