Brian Scalabrine Rumors: Chicago Bulls Fan Favorite to Return in Coaching Role?

Just when fans thought it was the end of the road for Brian Scalabrine on the NBA hardwood, the Chicago Bulls and head coach Tom Thibodeau appear to have decided to add the bench star to their 2012-13 coaching staff. Well, as long as the forward decides to take that route for this coming season.

According to CSNChicago.com's Aggrey Sam (via Twitter):

Sources tell me Scal is close to joining Thibs' staff. He'd replace Rick Brunson (TU), who is now in Charlotte.

While fans will likely be upset to not see "The White Mamba" posting up in the lane this season, they should at least be happy to know that they would be able to see him on the sidelines for hopefully many years to come.

The Bulls lost assistant coach Rick Brunson this offseason to the Charlotte Bobcats, leaving a spot open for Scalabrine to join the staff.
