Brandon Knight Injury: Updates on Suns Star’s Groin and Return

Phoenix Suns guard Brandon Knight is sidelined with a groin strain, according to the Arizona Republic's Paul Coro.

Knight Out vs. Hawks; Timetable for Return Unclear Saturday, Jan. 23 Knight missed the Suns' Thursday night clash against the San Antonio Spurs and proceeded to fly to Los Angeles for a second opinion on his groin, per Coro. The point guard has reportedly been nursing the injury since Dec. 31 and aggravated it Tuesday against the Indiana Pacers. 

Having already dealt with a hip pointer and a sprained ankle during his brief time in Phoenix, Knight has had a tough go of it from a health standpoint since heading to the desert in a February 2015 trade.

The Suns have been juggling point guards in recent years but committed to Knight with a five-year, $70 million contract in the offseason. It's unfortunate that Knight has suffered myriad health issues in his brief time with the team.

Eric Bledsoe and Knight coexisted well in the backcourt early in the 2015-16 campaign, but Bledsoe went down for the season after suffering a torn left meniscus in December.
