Boston Celtics: Remembering This Day 5 Years Ago

I feel bad. I'm guilty of a normally terrible sin: forgetting an important anniversary until the last second. 

As I write this it is currently July 31, 2012. Admittedly though, I'm writing it kind of late, so it won't be July 31 for long. 

And I think I speak for all of my fellow Celtics fans when I say that the memory of five years ago today—July 31, 2007—will forever remain with us. 

It was a half decade ago that the Celtics traded for Kevin Garnett. Today is the anniversary of Kevin Garnett coming to Boston. I'm sure KG won't be too upset that I forgot the anniversary until now. Although, I doubt I can make dinner reservations at this point. 

Really, it's the least I could do though because on this day five years ago, the Celtics as a franchise was forever changed. 

Almost the second Garnett stepped foot on Boston soil, the culture of the Celtics was completely altered. During his introductory press conference, you could just feel it. He said all the right things (the Heat's Big Three should have probably followed the Celtics lead in terms of introductions) and just gave Celtics fans ever ...
