Boston Celtics: Is the Pot of Celtic Gold Now in Washington, D.C.?

Lucky, the Celtic Leprechaun, remains silent about his pot o’gold and whether it will be available for the St. Patrick's Day celebration next week.

Earlier in the week, key Celtics players showed up at an expensive Obama fundraiser in Boston, down the Yellow Brick Road from the Garden, but uptown in price.

The cost of meeting President Obama would be daunting to most NBA fans, but not so to Celtics players who brought with them a pot of gold the Celtic leprechaun usually hides.

President Barack Obama came to Boston on Tuesday night to praise education efforts in science at a local school, but also brought with him all the Democratic House members from Massachusetts, and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, in the common cause of raising money to remain in the White House for a second term.

Notable Celtic Democrat and partial owner, Steve Pagliuca, arranged for the most admired Celtics to meet the President. But this was not really a social call, nor a public event to honor or to celebrate players and accomplishments. It was a fundraiser.
