Boston Celtics Injury Update and More Rasheed Wallace News

We've all heard the rumors that the Celtics might bring back trouble maker Rasheed Wallace in time for the playoffs and provide the Celtics will some extra big man depth. Rasheed has been seen at times around the Celtics locker room and as an occasional visitor to the practices.

However, on December 30, general manager Danny Ainge went on Boston's sports radio and said that the Celtics have absolutely no need for Rasheed Wallace.

Despite the injury to Kevin Garnett, Ainge said, "I’m not sure there’s room for Rasheed, unless we just have a whole bunch of injuries. Right now our center position, we have three healthy centers, we have a fourth one that’s not too far away in Kendrick Perkins." The question is, is Rasheed Wallace better than Shaquille O'Neal, Jermaine O'Neal and Semih Erden?

Also, Rasheed Wallace doesn't play the same position as KG, so the connection between Garnett's injury and Wallace's return is moot.  "I don't see him at the same position as KG," Ainge said.
