Austin Daye Reportedly Signs with Cavaliers: Latest Contract Details, Reaction

A busy offseason for the Cleveland Cavaliers has continued with the reported addition of veteran forward Austin Daye. 

According to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports, Daye and the Cavaliers agreed to terms on a one-year deal. 

Daye is a six-year NBA veteran who has bounced around, playing with the Detroit Pistons, San Antonio Spurs, Memphis Grizzlies, Toronto Raptors and Atlanta Hawks. He ended last season with the Hawks, playing 12 minutes in a game against the Chicago Bulls on April 15.        

Signing with the Cavaliers does give Daye a chance to atone for last season in more ways than one. In addition to being on the sidelines as Cleveland swept Atlanta in the Eastern Conference Finals, the 27-year-old was waived by San Antonio in January. 

After being let go by the Spurs, Daye told John Dudley of the Erie Times-News he understood the business part of the decision.
