Andre Drummond suffered a concussion Saturday night versus the Utah Jazz and will not return.

Drummond Injured vs. Jazz Saturday, March 14

Vincent Frank of the Detroit Free Press reported that Drummond suffered a concussion in the second half.

Drummond is a budding star in the NBA, having spent three years in relative obscurity because the Pistons haven't been a contender. He's one of the league's few true centers, averaging 13.2 points, 13.4 rebounds and nearly two blocks per game.

There's not a lot be excited about watching the Pistons as they had dropped nine of their last 10 games entering Saturday's tilt, but Drummond is certainly a foundation piece the franchise can build around. He did battle injuries as a rookie in 2012-13, specifically a back issue that caused him to miss 22 games, but was fine last year with 81 games started.

The Pistons should tread lightly with Drummond to ensure that he doesn't suffer a setback and can continue his climb up the ranks of best young players in the NBA.
