Aaron Gordon Injury: Updates on Magic Star’s Jaw and Recovery

The Orlando Magic expect small forward Aaron Gordon to return from a fractured jaw in time for the regular season opener on October 28 against the Washington Wizards, according to John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com.

Magic Hopeful Gordon Back in 7-10 Days Tuesday, Oct. 6 Denton tweeted the team is hopeful Gordon will return in the next seven to 10 days and noted there’s an outside shot he could be back sooner. Denton added Gordon has been running sprints before, during and after practice and that the second-year standout is in great shape. He’s participated in the bulk of the Magic’s training camp, but he has sat out full-contact drills and scrimmages.

Gordon, 20, underwent surgery for the fractured jaw on July 14 after sustaining the injury while "horsing around" with his older brother, Drew, who played in nine games with the Philadelphia 76ers last year, according to Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel.
