Aaron Gordon Injury: Updates on Magic Forward’s Foot and Return

December 27th, 2014 by Joseph Zucker Leave a reply »

Orlando Magic rookie Aaron Gordon is working his way back to the court.

John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com reported that Gordon returned to the team on Saturday:

The power forward has been out since a Nov. 15 loss to the Washington Wizards and had surgery on his left foot six days later after fracturing the fifth metatarsal in the foot.

Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reported a few days ago that Gordon was walking without a boot, which was a sign of progress:

The fourth overall pick in the NBA draft, Gordon has appeared in 11 games this season, averaging 5.8 points and three rebounds in 15 minutes a night.

Although few expected Orlando to be a playoff contender even in the weak Eastern Conference, the Magic are only three games out of the eighth spot. Once Gordon returns, they might become a legitimate contender for the top eight.
