Rudy Gay Injury: Updates on Kings SF’s Achilles and Recovery

Sacramento Kings forward Rudy Gay is recovering this summer after having shock wave treatment to heal an Achilles injury, per James Ham of CSNCalifornia.com.

Gay Discusses Procedure Wednesday, July 27 Ham's source clarified that the shock wave treatment wasn't a surgical procedure.

However, Gay said in an interview with Blake Ellington of SB Nation's Sactown Royalty that he had undergone surgery to repair his Achilles: "I actually had surgery. I had Achilles tendonitis, basically micro tears in my Achilles, and for the past two seasons, it's been bothering me, so I've been trying to play through it, and I got to a point where I needed to have it fixed, so I got it fixed."

Gay added that he's feeling better now following the surgery than he had in the previous two years.

His Achilles problems date back to January 2014. He then missed two games in November 2014 while dealing with tendinitis.
