The New Orleans Pelicans added some depth to their backcourt Thursday by agreeing to terms on a deal with guard Sean Kilpatrick.
The organization announced the signing in a press release, but it did not reveal any additional details. According to Dan Feldman of NBCSports.com, Eric Pincus of Basketball Insiders reported the contract is two years in length for the league minimum.
Per Pincus, the 25-year-old guard must make the Pels roster in order to receive $50,000 guaranteed, and he will receive an additional $200,000 if he is on the team for the entire 2015-16 season.
After the deal became official, Kilpatrick tweeted out a photo of the contract signing:
Kilpatrick went undrafted in 2014 despite a strong collegiate career at the University of Cincinnati that saw him get named to the All-AAC first team and the All-America second team as a senior.
The Yonkers, New York, native did appear in four games for the Minnesota Timberwolves as a rookie last season, due largely to a stroke of luck.
