Juwan Staten to Warriors: Latest Contract Details, Comments and Reaction

The reigning champion Golden State Warriors reportedly added more backcourt depth Thursday by signing former West Virginia standout point guard Juwan Staten to a one-year contract.

Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports reports the deal was confirmed by the guard's agent, Colin Bryant. Other terms of the agreement were not immediately released.

Staten started his collegiate career at Dayton before moving to West Virginia after one season. He proceeded to average 13.4 points, 4.6 assists and 3.8 rebounds across 94 games with the Mountaineers.

After going undrafted back in June, he linked up with the Sacramento Kings for the Las Vegas Summer League. He made just one appearance, tallying two points, two assists and three rebounds in 18 minutes of action, per NBA.com.

Now he'll join the Warriors, where he could actually carve out a niche role with the title holders.
