NHL Trade Rumors: Brenden Morrow Headed to the St. Louis Blues?

According to both Greg Wyshynski of Yahoo Sports and an article on NHL.com, there are rumors that the 33-year-old captain of the Dallas Stars could be heading to the St. Louis Blues. 

The move would make sense for both sides, as the Stars could get rid of cap space by shipping off Morrow after the worst statistical season of his career. In addition, the Blues could try to add some offense to a roster that desperately needs it.

Brenden Morrow only put up 26 points last season and missed 25 games due to injuries in both his neck and back. He has struggled to play a full season, as he has only eclipsed the 70 game mark in four of his last seven seasons. His offensive production has been on a decline.

The Stars captain is also on the last year of his contract, so a change of scenery could be imminent.

Dallas has signed both Ray Whitney and Jaromir Jagr this offseason, so they would not be missing an offensive prowess if General Manager Joe Nieuwendyk decides to ship Morrow.
