Rajon Rondo Will Be the Last Boston Celtic Standing

Celtics fans and media people always engage in wishful thinking. They ignore the cold, hard facts and act like the season is coming soon.

Anyone talking about this upcoming season is having a pipedream. After a year of sitting out, the older players will be cooked. We mean the Big Three of Boston. The season evaporating before our eyes will turn out to be their final chance for a championship.

After this lost season, there is only one future player for the Celtics. It’s Rajon Rondo. He must be signed, nurtured, pampered and have his maintenance costs paid in full. He will be on the endangered list of genuine, lifelong Celtics.

The Big Three may have faded into the past already. Perhaps the aging bones of Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce have already been interred with the good they did.

Stories about Rondo’s every move, every publicity stunt, all kinds of activities are photographed and recorded. Whether Rondo is icing his ankles after a workout, or trying yoga, choosing the color of his sneakers, or shopping for salad ingredients, he is the man of the hour.
