Sonny Weems Video: Toronto Raptors Star Scores Dunk of Night

Sonny Weems, congratulations are in order for you because you win the award for Wednesday’s NBA Dunk of the Night.

The Toronto Raptors guard threw down a sick dunk against the Charlotte Bobcats last night to tie the game at 24 late in the second quarter.

The dunk really shouldn’t have come as a surprise to basketball fans who have followed Weems since his college days at Arkansas.

Weems won the 2008 NCAA Slam Dunk Contest by defeating Patrick Ewing Jr. with some incredible dunks.

And now Weems seems to be taking his game to another level in the NBA.

The 24-year-old turned in a very solid bench performance in Wednesday’s game, with 20 points, two rebounds and two assists.

It was Weems’ second 20-plus point game of the season, and he’s almost certain to get a chance to shine on a Raptors team that could struggle all season.
