Will Luke Schenn Find His Game?

Luke Schenn, Toronto's so-called building block, will be sitting out for a third straight game tonight as the leafs host the Coyotes, coach Ron Wilson announced this morning.

It makes one wonder, how a steady hard hitting young building block such as Luke Schenn, can be sat out as a healthy scratch for a third consecutive game.

But as the Maple leafs have picked up there play tremendously, vaulting up the standings at a rapid rate, and now only sit two points out of the eighth and final playoff spot, Luke Schenn has continued to struggle.

His foot speed is slow, hes making terrible giveaways, and he only has 4 assists for 4 total points in 31 games played. I know hes a stay at home defenceman, but those numbers are brutal. Then you take a look over at his +/- which is currently even, but has gone up steadily over the maple leafs current winning ways.

So I think of the Luke Schenn situation this way: If the leafs were still losing, would Luke still be in the lineup? Ron Wilson was doing anything to win games while the Leafs were struggling, and now that they have a winning formula, Wilson doesn't want to mess with it.
