What Are the New York Islanders Doing?

As a Buffalo Sabres fan and featured columnist, I usually don’t venture into rants about other teams, but this is something I’ve wanted to do for a while.

I have been a Long Islander my whole life, and I have gotten a crystal-clear look at the New York Islanders and their workings.

Let’s start with the Nassau Mausoleum, excuse me, I mean the Nassau Coliseum—I always do that.

From a personal perspective, I hate the Coliseum and a majority of the fans who attend.

I went to a game at the Coliseum on Jan. 16 against the Sabres. I was booed by Islander fans, got into several arguments that I did not start, and was challenged to a fight by a drunken fan in a Rick DiPietro jersey while in line for the bathroom.
