Washington Capitals Vs. Colorado Avalanche Live Blog: Can Caps Stop Losing Skid?

The Washington Capitals face the Colorado Avalanche tonight at Washington DC's Verizon Center. 

The Caps have lost their last four games and have gone 4-5-2 in their last 11. The last time the team strung five consecutive losses together was November 2007, and it resulted in the firing of then head coach Glen Hanlon. Current Caps coach Bruce Boudreau was promoted from the team's AHL affiliate, the Hershey Bears, as interim coach at that point. The interim was removed from his title on December 26, 2007. 

Since taking over he has led the team to a record of 159-65-31.

Pressure will be on everyone on the Capitals bench tonight. They need a win. 

Boudreau put his stars on notice after Thursday's 3-0 loss to the Florida Panthers.

"If you just look down, Alex (Ovechkin) has two goals in 11 games, Semin hasn’t scored in seven or eight games, Mike Green hasn’t had a goal in I don’t know how many games. Same thing with Nick Backstrom—he scored in the St. Louis game but that was five games ago."
