The Washington Capitals stand at the halfway point of their season. 

Forty-one games are in the books for the team, and the Caps sit in second place in the Southeast Division with a 23-12-6 record for 52 points.

Last season the Capitals finished atop the NHL with 121 points, and captured the first President's Trophy in franchise history.

What follows is a comparison of the team's star players and how they are projected to finish this season versus how they finished last season.
